Happy Easter/Resurrection Sunday! I hope you had a wonderful holiday! I know I did. I got to spend time with my mom all weekend. We went to church on Thursday to celebrate Maundy Thursday, Friday to celebrate Good Friday, and Sunday as well! We ate, laughed, and just enjoyed each other’s company. So who is excited about the upcoming BLACK PANTHER MOVIE!!!! I AMMMMM! I absolutely love Marvel in general but I am so happy that the movie features African/ African American people of all shades, cultures, and backgrounds. The imagery of the African culture and the fictional country is simply beautiful! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out this trailer.. this one too. I put together this look for the SMA Styling Challenge. The theme was Burlesque. When styling this outfit, I really wanted to try to do something different. I didn’t want to use a pre-styled outfit but instead, I tried to mix and match different pieces to make one cohesive look. So while I was browsing Facebook while at work, I found this beautifully made chained dress designed by Addams. I knew I wanted lots and lots of feathers so I took the feathers from my national gown made from Ghee and added them to my outfit. From there, I paired red and gold accessories & VOILA!! my outfit. 10 days ago, I randomly decided to try out for the 2019 Mr. & Miss Metaverse Pageant. Each month, aspirants have the chance to audition to be a finalist to compete for the crown. Since the January styling challenge was something that I could easily put together from my inventory, I said to myself “hey.. why not?” The January Styling Theme was “Hollywood”. We were given the freedom to draw inspiration from our favorite Hollywood look from any films, red carpet glam, etc. So here is what I put together! I was inspired by old hollywood glam; the short wavy hair, pearls, gloves, and the classic long cigarette holder.
I’m happy to say that I was picked to be one of the finalists to compete in the 2019 Mr. & Miss Metaverse Pageant!! I will represent my family’s home country, Trinidad & Tobago, once again. I would like to say congratulations to the fellow winners, Doce Enouty Mayfair and RoyaleSun Ixchel. I look forward to stepping back into the pageant world! Hello my beauties!
This weekend has been a lot of fun. In real life, my mom came to visit. Moving to a new city on my own made me realize how close my mom and I really are. Every time we are apart, I miss her so much! She is my bestie ❤ . We had a great time catching up, watching action shows, and just spending time together. She even taught me how to make eggplant parmesan! In Second Life, I had to opportunity to cast for The Fashion Loft’s “LULU and Heels” fashion show that is taking place on February 3rd at 12pm. This is the first casting that I have been a part of since I took my break from modeling and SL altogether. It felt like I was a new model all over again. The sweaty palms, accelerated heart rate, multiple bathroom breaks (haha.. I know.. TMI). I am so happy to say that I was picked to be one of the runway models for the show! Thank you so much Red & Moni for an opportunity to return to the runway in a fashion show for the first time in over a year! Here is the styling that I put together for the casting. Hello beauties!
It has been an interesting couple of weeks for me. I recently celebrated by 28th birthday this past weekend. It seems like this chapter of my life has been stamped with one major question: WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE? This question doesn’t just plague my RL but also bleeds into my SL as well. If you know me, then you know that I always have to have a goal that I am trying to reach to feel like I have a purpose. When I first starting modeling, my goal was to be among the best of the best… to BE the best and to be in all of the top agencies. But now, I’m not quite sure. With such a long break from SL, I’m in this awkward phase of trying to find out where I fit in again. Sometimes I feel like “dang, I shouldn’t have been gone for so long”, but I know that I would have went bonkers without that break (lol). Big thanks to everyone who welcomed me back with warmth and open arms. You made me feel so loved and I truly appreciate it! ❤
In regards to my modeling career, I am definitely taking it slow. I have some friends and family watching my every move to make sure I don’t go crazy again (cough cough, Gen & Reece lol) . I put together this look, inspired by Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2018 Collection. It was the final styling challenge that I assigned to the newest graduates in Genesis Modeling Agency (Congrats Khandie, Nahla, Royal, and Tenaja!). I actually reused the dress I used in a previous styling that I blogged while competing in the 2016 Miss Royalty Pageant. I absolutely love D&G’s complete collection, especially the large floral patterns, bright colors, and extravagant headpieces. Here are the details of my styling below. Enjoy!
